Join us on Saturday, October 15 from 11 am to 5 pm for a trunk show event featuring handmade products from Richmond artist, Hillary Waters Fayle and Brooke Reynolds of Little Leaf Herbs. With the changing seasons and a strong connection to the cycles of nature, Hillary and Brooke plan to offer indigo-dyed textiles for the home as well as naturally derived salves, lotions, and bath bombs for the body.

Hillary’s work explores human connection to the physical world through the use of organic objects and materials. “The way I think about and make art mirrors the way I think about my life and how I walk through the world. What I do is about elevating details. It is about noticing cycles and connections. It is about regarding a familiar object in a new way. It’s about seeing things and considering their connection to you, their potential futures and possible pasts. There is a depth and an importance to what is present, and what is absent. Invisible narratives are woven into and around each piece, each interaction.”

Brooke’s organic salves and remedies are handmade in small batches using natural ingredients like essential oils, beeswax, sea salt, and dried flowers. “Ultimately, I am motivated by reducing our discomfort. I seek to offer us ways to nourish our undernourished bodies, minds and souls in the face of daily imposed discomforts. For me, the process of making medicine is that practice. I am motivated by my love of the land and the earth, all the things they teach me and all the ways they have helped me. Little Leaf is my attempt to share this process with you.”
