Jason Mazzola took over this months mixtape! A talented dude both in art and music, he has done design work / shirts for Strike Anywhere, Midnight, Rival Schools, Praise, and fliers for Vinyl Conflict…. let alone being in RVA’s own band Cloak/Dagger. The inspiration for this mixtape is said best in his own words:

“I went with a past, present and future theme with some songs that got me into punk and hardcore that I heard on skate videos at a young age, some songs that have stayed favorites of mine over the years and some potential favorites from newer releases.

I think it’s important to take from the past, live in the now and look forward to the future as far as music goes since there are so many good bands, people and so much creative energy that goes into making music.

Sadness, anger, late night drives, long walks at night, early morning coffee overseas all memories with a soundtrack. Through the good times and the bad music is always there at the right time. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the songs that made me fall in love with music and remind me in the future it will be there to fall in love with all over again.

Some of these songs were passed down by a friend’s mix tape that passed away at age 14 and those songs still hit my heart just as hard as when I first heard them back then. I had a piece of paper with the song titles written on them as a treasure map to the world of music that is out there to enjoy. Some of which are records I never found. “

Hope you enjoy!
